On the other hand in Egypt, there is very little rain so the Nile provides irrigation. Rain was important to agriculture in Greece as there are very little large rivers and it is very mountainous. The idea that the invisible must be understood by the visible is inherently Greek.Greek gods looked like humans, had the same vices as humans did, all just on a more extreme scale. The situation was similar in ancient Mesopotamian religions as well. Elsewhere such as in Egypt gods had birds or cats heads and were towering above humans in size. Greek mythology is extremely interesting and illustrates its "human centrism" in the fact that its gods were made in the image of man."With the coming forward of Greece, mankind became the center of the universe.".The Iliad is the oldest Greek writings we have preserved.When nature and humans are interconnected as they were back then, distinctions between reality and the supernatural were more blurred. ![]()
